The truth about intermittent fasting

Less lies, more results

Hey Drip Fam,

Here’s the truth about intermittent fasting.

It’s a truth that will make losing weight so much easier and less stressful.

And without it, you’ll continue chasing fad diets that will end in you regaining any weight lost anyway.

The truth is this: losing weight is not about when you eat; it’s about how much you eat.

Intermittent fasting is a dietary practice where you eat within a certain time window, and fast the rest of the day/night. Most people who intermittently fast eat within an 8-hour window, like 12pm-8pm, and fast for the remaining 16 hours of the day.

Will this help you lose weight?

Sure, but only if you eat in a calorie deficit.

A calorie deficit means eating fewer calories than you need to maintain your current weight.

If you need 3,000 calories to maintain your current weight, and you eat 2,800 calories, you will lose weight over time. It doesn’t matter if those 2,800 calories are eaten between 12pm and 8pm or between 2am and 10pm.

Intermittent fasting is often sold as the “eat anything you want as long as you eat within your time window” diet, but that is simply not true. That is not how the human body works.

Even if you eat all your meals within an 8-hour window, you will still gain weight if the calories consumed outweigh your maintenance calories.

So instead of chasing dietary fads and magic weight loss schemes, focus on sustainable nutrition practices like:

  • Eating whole, nutrient-dense foods

  • Consuming 1g of protein per pound

  • Limiting sugar intake and processed foods

  • Consuming fewer calories than your maintenance calories

  • Being patient with the process

If you follow these practices for a consistent amount of time, I promise you will achieve your weight loss goals, regardless of what time of day/night you eat.

And if you need any guidance or tips along the way, email me your questions, and we’ll make sure you’re on the right track to success.
